Youth Mission Trips
Each year, the youth group sets aside a week to look beyond their own needs, wants and desires and focuses on a special project. Past trips include working with children at Hephzibah (a Wesleyan Children's Home), doing hurricane restoration in Bayou La Battre, Alabama (After Katrina), working with children in the inner-city of Atlanta, and working in the communities of the Appalachian Mountain Region.
Due to the devastation fire that destroyed our church in January, we decided it best to concentrate our resources, energy, efforts, and finances close to home. However, we still wanted students to have an opportunity to serve and give back so we went on a weekend long work trip to the Orleans Wesleyan Campgrounds. While there we were able to deal with a mold issue in one of the dormitories and do a complete overhaul including a fresh coat of paint.
